General election information can be found at: www.fsinf.at/wahl
A quick reminder: For the Student Representation, there is a personal voting right, meaning you will find the names of individuals on the ballot. For Computer Science, there are 5 student representation mandates, so five people can be elected.
We would like to introduce the candidates of the Fachschaft Informatik for the student representation in the group photo above. From left to right, you see: Thomas, Bence, Kiara, Fabian, Daniel.
The FSInf usually always presents 5 candidates for the election of the student representation. This is because we do not want to have a competition within the group - instead, we collectively find 5 people who will become “the faces of FSInf” for the election.
Our Candidates for the Informatics Student Representation
Fabian Erker (@fabianerker)
Hello, I am a Software Engineering student in my 6th semester. The FSInf has been my university home for 2 years now, and I have come to appreciate it greatly during this time. If you are often in the FSInf study room, you probably already know me. Now I want to give something back. I especially want to strengthen the sense of community in our student council through transparency in the council’s work for students and more joint events. It is also particularly important to me that everyone feels welcome and comfortable in our student council.
In the student representation, I will advocate for our study program to be an open place with equal opportunities for all. To ensure this, it must be clear that right-wing ideology, queer hostility, and sexism have no place among us!
Daniel Kipp (@nullptr)
From the very beginning, the “open-source” spirit and the many unforgettable events of the Fachschaft Informatik excited me. Tools like VoWi have become my indispensable companions in daily student life. Therefore, I want to give something back and have transitioned from being a regular VoWi contributor to organizing various events, and now to being a candidate for the student representation of the Fachschaft Informatik.
I am also often in the study room, active in various committees (including the study commission, where we are designing the new Master’s program in Computer Science), and I help a variety of people with their problems, both physically and online. Personally, I want to advocate for more parties and other events. I see the student representation as a good mean to help outside of party politics.
Kiara Kolisch (@kiara)
During my years at TU, I have increasingly come to understand the importance of the Fachschaft Informatik. Through advising students and organizing events (E-Tut, Spritzerstand), I have already contributed my part to the student council, and now I want to do even more for us students.
It is important to me that our study program is a place free from discrimination. I see the student representation as a good opportunity to highlight the importance of the student council as the voice of the students.
Thomas Schönauer (@s34m)
I started studying four semesters ago, each of which has been significantly eased by the student council, whether through learning materials from VoWi or help from people I met in the study rooms. Since the second semester, I have been supporting the student council, working in committees and commissions on the future of the Computer Science program, and advocating for your rights with respect to instructors and courses, so that you do not have to deal with various university and administrative matters in addition to your studies.
As a student representative, I want to ensure that the Computer Science program at TU Vienna remains a program worth studying and that the significant time investment is justified.
Bence Simon (@sben)
I am studying Technical Computer Science and Software Engineering at the Bachelor’s level; many may already know me from the FSInf study room, where I have been happy to help with questions and concerns of all kinds since the first semester.
Currently, I am involved in the study commission for Technical Computer Science, where the new Master’s program is being developed, and I now want to step more into the foreground from the background. I want to maintain and expand the services of the student council - such as advising, VoWi, E-Tuts, and events.
Studying should not only consist of exams; therefore, I also want to bring new perspectives that make university life a bit more relaxed.
